Often times Muslims will accuse Christians and Jews that they have corrupted their Bibles and thereby altered the foundational revelation of God’s Word and the truth about Jesus Christ. But what does the Qur’an say about Jesus and, more importantly, what did Jesus say about Himself? Finally, when Jesus does contradict the modern teachings of Islam, which will you choose and which will you reject? What Islam originally said and taught about Jesus is much different from what is being put forth within Islam today.

Let’s be perfectly clear, in no way, shape, or form am I against Muslims. We have many things in common.  We, like you, deny the trinity. Any way you count it, one plus one, plus one, equals three.  We believe that there can be and that there is ONLY ONE GOD.

However, just as there is only one God, there is only one way to salvation.  And that Way is Jesus Christ.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

The Qur’an and its early commentators embraced the validity of the Bible:

The Qur’an (Sura 4:136) calls for all who believe to follow what Allah sent to those before Muhammad (the Bible). The Qur’an states (Sura 5:48) that it was given to be the guardian of all the previously revealed Scripture.

If the Bible was corrupted, then the Quran failed in its work. If the Bible was corrupted, when, where, and how was it corrupted?  Was the Bible corrupted prior to the prophet Muhammad’s time or after it?  If it was corrupted before Muhammad’s time, then why did he make that claim?  Why did Muhammad tell his people to read the Torah and the Gospel?  If it was corrupted after the prophet Muhammad’s time, then why do we have ancient copies of the Bible that are much older than Muhammad and that read exactly the same as the Bible today?

Jesus is the Final Judge - not Allah

There are several places in the New Testament Scriptures where the claim is clearly made that Jesus is God and record Jesus Himself claiming to be God. Here are a few examples from the Scriptures that prove the point.

Scripture declares:   Jesus is God

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 KJV)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 KJV)

According to the Qur’an all Muslims are called to believe the words of Jesus.

According to Islam, Moses is considered the ‘speaker of Allah’ and Jesus is considered to be the ‘word of Allah’.

We believe that Jesus was THE WORD made flesh and that the Word was God.

Jesus declares:

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.  (59)  Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.” (John 8:58-59 KJV)

Indeed, if Jesus wasn’t God, then His claims make absolutely no sense!

C.S. Lewis said it this way:

“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic – on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg – or else he would be the devil of hell.”

If Jesus was simply a human being or, as Islam claims, Jesus was a prophet, then He should have never claimed that He would judge the world. After all, according to the Qur’an the final judge will be Allah. Only he will judge the world and thereby decide who shall ascend to heaven and who shall traverse down to hell.

“On that day the dominion will be that of God: He will judge between them: so those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in gardens of delight. And for those who reject faith and deny Our signs, there will be a humiliating punishment.”  (Sura 22:56-57)

The Bible agrees that God and God alone will be that final judge.

“But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.  (8)  And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.” (Psalms 9:7-8)

Given these facts, anyone who would claim to be that final judge of the world would in turn be claiming to be God – which is precisely what Jesus claims He is and what He will accomplish.

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  (32)  And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  (33)  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” (Matthew 25:31-33 KJV)

“ And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.  (15)  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  (16)  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:14-16 KJV)

There are contradictions to be found. These contradictions are found in the heart and mind of the Muslim who thinks that he must rescript the Torah and ignore the Words of Jesus.

Do you believe the Words of Jesus?

Jesus is standing at your door and knocking. He desires entrance into your heart!

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20 KJV)

Jesus said in fact that He is the door of entry - the truth, the way, and the only life!

“ I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10:9 KJV)

“ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 KJV)

Jesus said that He came according to the Torah and that it, and it alone, foretold the place of His birth and the purpose of His coming.

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (Hebrews 10:7 KJV)

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. (Luke 24:44 KJV)

The Apostle Paul stated that the Gospel was the only true witness of Jesus Christ and that anyone coming with a different Gospel than the one he proclaimed is accursed.

 (8)  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (9)  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9)

The Gospel Paul preached is the same Gospel all the Apostles preached which is the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

(38)  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

(39)  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:37-39 KJV)

The Gospel is still the true witness to Jesus Christ and the only way to salvation.  I sincerely encourage you to do as the Prophet Haggai said and “consider your ways.”
